Since yesterday afternoon I started seeing a high number of small orange butterflies passing over our yard. Today as I watch, I am seeing about 5 a minute fly by, heading in a north and northeast direction. I am not certain these are Monarchs, they aren't landing so I can't see them close up to get better estimate of size. They look smaller than adult Monarchs. (Painted Ladies)
