All Other Signs of Spring

For the last few days I have noticed Painted Ladies steadily flying low over our roof from the south then sweeping less than twenty feet off the ground heading north.I have a compass so I am certain of my directions. They are not going due north nor are they coming from due south. This afternoon I see that they have increased in their population. I set the timer on the microwave oven for one minute and counted ten flying by.
I have also sighted two Bullock's Orioles trying to feed at our hummingbird feeder this morning. I will be putting up a feeder specifically for them now.
