The great blue heron arrived just at 8:00 this evening - looking for his nesting platform in the dead elm by the pond! He's early this year. the temp tonight is +8C and the stars are shining brightly but it's going to rain this evening and tomorrow. we are watching the last 2 barrels of sap bubbling on the fire - looks like the season for maple magic is coming to and end. snowdrops are peaking out in the garden and the tulips have just popped up as well. the yard is a sea of mud - the frost is starting to come out of the ground already! spring is definitely here!
