Yesterday afternoon I noticed many Painted Lady butterflies in the large trees near our back yard. At first I thought it was a swarm of moths, but when I looked closer I saw the beautiful markings and colors of monarchs! They seemed to be resting in the trees and fluttering about playing with eachother. Today I do not see too many resting and playing, but many are flying through the backgard and up over our roof, heading north. What a treat!
