Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 03/19/2009

Number: 1

The same male I have seen three years in a row showed up on my birthday to say hello. He is distinctive as his band has a single red extending out from his collar. This year I hope that he or his family will again nest in my yard. I love them and will continue to do anything I can to help propagate the species. My aunt has Hummers almost year round at 23451. Next year she is going to leave her garage door open 6 inches to let them in for the cold. This is no misinformation. She has been feeding them for thirty years+, and they stay almost year round.
