The loons have been here a bit, but I saw 27 loons this morning on Lake Monona. I have never seen more than 12 or 13 before. I wonder if they are coming through in a shorter time, so there are more at once. Or, maybe, are they doing better? The mergansers seemed very uneasy around them--what do you do when birds disappear and pop up all around you?
