Tulips EMERGED

Date: 04/02/2009

Number: 1

Finally, under the winter leaf cover, we have found the first 7 (of 25) of our tulips poking through the cold ground about 2 -5 cm. Our garden is located on a slope and only the bulbs at the top of the hill have emerged. Since there is still snow on one side of the bed, students guessed that it was shadier and windier on the downhill (NE) side. We had snow on Tuesday so were surprised to discover the first tulips! We have seen a few crocus in bloom and are seeing lots of robins, too.
