We saw our first and second Barn Swallows of 2009 on Saturday, April 4, 2009. One was a male but we never got a good enough look at the other one to determine what it was.This will be our fourth year to have Barn Swallows. We also had our first hummer of 2009 and out first Monarch of 2009 on the same day. All were spotted mid-afternoon when the temperature was in the low 70s.
We live in a rural area outside Benton, Arkansas. Our Neighbor said that he had a ton of Monarchs that same day
