I spotted a lone monarch butterfly flitting between wildflowers on a hill in O'Melvanie Park near my house. I am certain this one was a Monarch, not a Painted Lady this time (and I got a close up photo of it to be certain). It was quite large (maybe just a little less than 4 inches across?), and seemed content to lazily ride the wind as it went from flower to flower.
