Our Red Emperor tulips were planted in a garden with partial sun, and 18 tulips bloomed approximately 3 weeks later than a neighboring school 4 miles away. Students decided that was because of the location in the garden with partial sun during the day. The neighboring school planted their tulips in full sun.
Our third school did not plant new tulips this year because the ones we planted by the school sign still emerge every spring since 2005. They are in the shape of a W for Woodlawn, but part of the W is missing this year.
