Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 04/11/2009

Number: 1

So, in January we saw 2-4 Robins, which was unusual, but there were other sightings of one or two here and there. In February, for a day or two, there were 13, but then it went down to a couple every few days, or none at all. Then, end of March, there were 40... but that was only for a day or so, and then the numbers went down to a steady 4-6.
So tonight, after putting out more seed, the second 30# bag in about a week almost gone... I counted over 56!

I could barely believe it.
So, where are these birds coming from? Are they early arrivals? Did they overwinter? Somewhere nearby and now they're flocking up? Or is it the sign in our yard, EAT AT JOE'S??

They're very hungry, and very skittish, and their song is grand.

It's like spring, but you know, it's not quite yet. Couple more days anyway.

All theories welcome-
