Tulips EMERGED

Date: 03/13/2009

Number: 1

Our tulips emerged before spring break. We saw the leaves grow above the straw that we used to mulch the tulips to protect our plants from our harsh winter weather in Kansas. We had a spring snow storm on March 27. Since our tulips were not blooming yet, the leaves were fine after the snow melted. The leaves were the same color as the grass. The leaves are not punctured and are perfectly formed. We're fifth graders and want to learn about plants!!! We have the most tulips out of all the fifth grade. :-)
