"Thursday, April 9 will go down as the official ice out date for the Forest Lake chain of lakes in 2009. The ice out was declared by Corbett Johnson, a community lake watcher."
"First Lake""on Monday as the wind moved ice sheets to the south shore, was clear of ice later that afternoon. Third Lake was clear of ice on Wednesday, April 8, with Second Lake ice going out on Thursday, April 9, Johnson reports. The 2009 ice out date compares to April 22 last year. In 2007, the ice on the Forest Lake chain cleared on March 31."
