Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/19/2009

Number: 1

It's a bit early for monarchs here. I've seen quite a few Commas and Question Marks, Spring azures, Cabbage, and Yellows.

I notice you don't have the American Virgin Islands on your map. For 10 years we vacationed in St. John during the months of late Jan. and Feb. I always saw Monarchs. I assume they never migrate in or out of the island. ? I always thought they looked a bit different than those we see locally. I'll send you a photo by separate e-mail.

Note the different spotting color; one has all white spotting while the other has white and yellow spotting
