Coming back to school after spring break on April 14, we had to wait for two more days for the rain to let us out to check the garden. Seeing all of our twenty-one tulips in full bloom in the sunshine was stunning. Our best estimate for the date of the first bloom is a week earlier than our observance due to the extent of the petals. Some of the flowers were even a bit past their prime. We were also impressed by the "closing up" of the blossoms as evening approached, only to burst forth in glorious crimson the next morning.
