About 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, spotted a monarch in our garden. My husband and I assume it was a female even though we could not get close enough to identify and "it" was flying around as if looking for a place to lay eggs. We have many asclepias syriaca available but we lost sight of "it" before she got near the patch. We see very few in the spring, often not any. Day was sunny, around 80 degrees, almost no breeze.
