We just returned from a district wide workshop with all of our 7-12 graders. It was fun! We held our first district prom.

When we left Shageluk, people were still ice fishing for Northern Pike on the river and no Canadian Geese had come in yet. In two days the temps went from 25 F. degrees to 40 F. degrees! We had been experiencing 15-25 degrees most of April but hit the thaw last week.

Along with the thaw came the Robins!

We still aren't seeing much of them but we hear them. The first ones that come through are very, very large and very, very dark red. I've always wondered why that is. I supposed they are the strongest of the males that come that continue migrating to other parts of the area. I know the singing one is usually here to stay, claiming his territory and announcing his eagerness to find a mate and settle in for the summer.
