Spirit Lake
"For all intents and purposes, the last of the winter's ice disappeared from Spirit Lake in Menahga on Tuesday, April 21.
Strong winds on Monday reduced what had been a sheet across most of the lake in the morning to a narrow strip across the southeast shore by evening, and that disappeared on Tuesday. The last five ice-outs we reported were April 18, 2004; April 9, 2005; April 12, 2006; April 20, 2007; and May 2, 2008."
