"Jo Stewart of Solon Springs reported on Monday that Lake St. Croix went completely ice-free on April 16. She knows this because she consulted with Kathie Matushak and Anna Shingledecker, fellow ice-watchers on the lake.


“That’s eight days earlier than last year,” Stewart said."
