Virginia Living Museum staff member reports a monarch butterfly was sighted today about 10 am flying North at Belle Isle Marina in Hampton while VLM educators were conducting a Bay field trip for Mary Peake Elementary School students. It was only a quick sighting, it did not appear tattered or faded.
