Today is April 29th and our tulips have all bloomed but most have lost their petals. We are seeing seed pods developing.
We planted our tulips in 4 different areas, one that was wet and shady, one that was wet and sunny, one that was sunny and dry and one that was shady and dry. The ones that grew biggest were in the wet and shady area. The ones in the dry and sunny were the smallest and their leaves had been nibbled on. The dry and shady and the dry and sunny were both the same size but wet and sunny was taller than them. Tallest was wet and shady. We conclude that tulips like it when it is partially shady and with a source of dampness.
It was fun to watch them bloom.
