Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/26/2009

Number: 1

I just got back from a few days at Point Pelee. We had a Monarch on April 26th, along with several of the expected migrant/early hatching species. The Monarch was seen from the west beach of Point Pelee National Park; it was flying north out over Lake Erie. I talked to another butterfly-er who saw another the next day in the park. A Swamp Darner on Apr 27 was another highlight. The bird activity was great during the warm spell, but it also had the insects out!
