Sorry about the delay ~ we thought we had lost our tulips this year under approx. 6 inches of snow on the weekend they emerged we received heavy wet snowfall on Sunday while we were away! The plants had broken through our mulch, and were temporarily brown, so we thought we had lost them, but they are back and have formed buds ready to bloom anyday now! We have been distracted by the local economic challenges and the health challenges in Mexico and elsewhere, but are finding unexpected joy with our surprising spring flowers ~ they really can symbolize hope in spite of dark days around us. A side note, in our area near the 45th we experience multiple micro climate sometimes under a mile apart ~ which enables some local farmers to produce 75% of the United States cherries. I am contacting our local MSU Extension to see if they know how many micros have been discovered. Wishing all a warm joyful spring.
