First leaves sited from sprouts at the base of last season's stalk! This milkweed is at the end of a garden grape vine row. We hope we have our usual "crop" of milkweed which comes up amongst the vegetables, berry bushes, yard grass. We observe that it also 'migrates' to new locations, both by roots and by wind-blown seeds. The first sighting of milkweed is always the first sign of spring for me and my husband, children and grandchildren.
