Lake Vermilion
"The ice has finally melted and open water extends across the lake! The rain and high winds did their magic on the ice did their work earlier than expected this year. The Van Deusens with
Van Air flew the lake on Thursday morning (8:00 a.m.) and spotted some ice built up along Birch Point. Later that day Paul Pollock checked where he could on the east end and found no ice visible. So we declare Lake Vermilion "ice free" on Thursday, April 30th, 2009!!"
