Ospreys returned! Built nest on top of Bolding Bridge, Highway 53 at Hall/Forsyth County line and have been returning each year to the same site. Took pictures this year and the following weekend nest was gone. GA DOT has decided to take down the nest so they could do repairs to bridge that they say isn’t immediately necessary. We were furious! The bridge has been declared safe, but they took down the nest anyway. This past weekend we noticed the birds are rebuilding on the opposite side of the bridge, yeah birds! But the DOT says they will just knock it down again to keep them from laying eggs, doesn't matter that the repair to the bridge won't take place anytime soon.
