Milkweed (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/11/2009

Number: 1

May 11,2009: Common milkweed beginning to poke its head up. Now, 3 days later it's already 3 inches tall------but can't say this growth spurt'ing' is typical. In fact, the ONLY milkweeds visible are those located in a sheltered area with a
southern exposure.
Every day in NW WI begins with a cacophany of male birds trilling their hearts out in immense repertoires. The male tree swallows were here scouting three weeks ago. Only at the end of last week their mates returned. More To Come.....!
