A beautiful green Ruby-throated Hummingbird male came to our seed bird feeder to inspect it in the mid-afternoon out in Georgetown. When he found it was just filled with seeds he took off! We are quite close to the ocean and in a well-treed area. We have a ruffed grouse that lives near our house, so we were out "talking" to the grouse when the hummingbird arrived. Our grouse is one of those birds that evidently sometimes befriends humans, and has decided we are grouse or s/he is human.
