My wife and I were riding our bikes by the school butterfly garden, when I noticed a monarch flying towards us. We had no opportunity to notice if it was a male or female, but it was brightly colored. It was 5:20 in the afternoon with a strong southernly breeze. The temperature was 86 degrees. This is the earliest I have seen my first monarch since I started keeping track the past 8 years.
