Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/21/2009

Number: 1

It is very windy and I saw a butterfly coasting in the wind about 80 feet away. It went into my neighbours backyard and just as I was about to run to see what kind it was, it flew right at me to where it was about 10 feet away. There is no doubt it was a monarch. Maybe because of a gust of wind, as it coasted by me, it crashed into the side of our house, temporarily regained its bearings then soared over the corner of our roof, out of sight.
