We watched two baby Rufous hummingbirds grow in a nest on our porch. Yesterday, they flew away from the nest. This morning, we found a chirping baby had flown inside our van inside of our garage. We carefully caught and released it. This is the second time in 3 years that we've had a nest on our porch. The mother and birds do not mind us being on the porch with them.
I'm a teacher and have been sharing our pictures and story with my middle school students. What a wonderful experience!
