Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/27/2009

Number: 1

I am a teacher at Lee Elementary. My kids and I were out just doing casual observations in our garden when we discovered that those monarchs must have found their way back to our little garden!
We have at least 12 caterpillars and I actually had to relocate some to my home in Costa Mesa since our plants at school were too small to support their appetite! Happy to report that they are healthy and almost full size in my yard here! There are many more in the garden at school, too! HOORAY! We are so happy they know where we are! Next year, I will have the kids doing the reporting on this website since we saw them on the fall pass by and now again in spring!
