We were a bit surprised when Altus spied a monarch cruising the backyard this afternoon. The curassavica is trying to come back after being eaten down to the stem three times this year and could really use the rest of the summer to come back. We think about half isn't going to come back and we are going to have to replace the big milkweed bed ... there are volunteers but all in the wrong place, will transplant.
