Finally saw my first Monarch nectaring on Common Milkweed in my backyard here in Newfoundland in Northern New Jersey. It's been chilly and raining here every day for practically a month with no Monarch sightings. Temps finally moved into the low 80's. A female Monarch spent most of the afternoon nectaring but she never deposited any eggs. My student Brandi Lorenzo also had a sighting in Randolph, New Jersey about an hour south of here yesterday.
