Noticed an adult at the edge of a grassy field along a town road. I've been waiting to see just how long it would be before I sighted one. During the fall migration last year I counted over 100 in 1 hour heading south. Too bad the same thing doesn't occur during the spring migration north in this area. Why is that? Do they fly north from Mexico and then head east in the spring due to food sources? And in the fall they take the most direct route south ahead of the cold weather?
