Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/24/2009

Number: 1

My first sighting of Monarchs in Ohio was at the education garden at Franklin Park Conservatory. I had maintained a strong stand of Milkweed in the education garden to use with my lessons with the theraputic group of students that come from the recreation center that is located in the park each summer. The Conservatory has a butterfly exhibit inside which we will also explore. I have raised Monarchs all my life ( from childhood with my mother, through the 35 year teaching career I had in Columbus, Ohio, to the volunteeer lessons I now teach at the Conservatory.)
