It has been a crazy spring here - lots of rain. Very few monarchs. However, Friday I noticed a monarch flying about & yesterday I found at least 10 eggs on my potted tropical milkweed. I brought it up on the deck & placed a mesh sock over it - not taking any chances with predators! I also found a few eggs on the swamp milkweed in the garden. In the meantime I've been raising black swallowtails inside - have 2 chrysalis' & 2 second instars - they love the fennel!
