Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 07/21/2009

Number: 1

Looking out my bedroom window onto the Purple Coneflower/Milkweed Garden, I see ragged edges on a milkweed leaf. I went outside to see ! Monarch Larva. I found 3. All were large. Later, I could only find 2, so I'm hoping one went to pupate. Actually, the "butterfly business" is begining to pick up. In the last 2 days I've seen a Red Admiral, some Skippers, a horde of Pearl Cresent worms, 2 Monarchs, and a Question Mark. One Painted Lady was at the Garden at the Zoo.
