Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Hello from NW Ohio at Waystation No. 613. Interestingly, since August 10th, there's been a "lull" in Monarch activity in my county of Sandusky. Saw no Monarchs flying around town and none visiting my MW plants or nectar flowers. Checked eggs daily and found only a couple each day, or not at all. On August 10th, I collected 19 eggs off the Swamp MW in my yard and saw 5 Monarchs that visited my MW plants. I wonder if there all "lulls" in the Monarch egg laying activity? Could it be that a generation passed away and their eggs will develop into Monarch butterflies and there will be a skyrocketing of seeing them flying around town? In egg laying & egg collections? Has anyone else seen this sudden "lull" in activity?

So far this year, I ID's 21 Monarchs flying around town, collected 132 eggs, had a total of 64 eggs hatch thus far, currently have 22 1st. instar hatchlings and 34 larger caterpillars, witness 57 fatalities from eggs not hatching, OE victims & parasites, currently have 6 chrysalis', and raised, tested for OE & released 8 Monarch butterflies (M= 4 F= 3 DK = 1).
