Quickie survey of eastern OH, northern WV, western PA, western MD, and northern VA
I had the opportunity to return at a leisurely pace from the MTN workshop in DC. Took two days to get there and three to get back.
Needless to say, I roamed the beautiful back roads along the way and stopped frequently to check milkweed patches for eggs/cats. I FOUND SCADS! Nearly every patch was heavily "infested" with monarch babies...
It got to the point I was forcing myself to move on after finding 20 or 30... I even found much evidence of egg loading - 3,4, even 8! eggs on a leaf!!! Nearly every patch had at least one male, sometimes more in attendance. We should have a fantastic migration from these areas!!!
