If you are within striking distance of Canaan Valley and an avid monarch enthusiast you owe to yourself to stop in and have naturalist Destiny P. point you toward their ample, beautiful fields of milkweed. They are teaming with monarchs. I arrived back here in Monroe County, WV to a similar explosion of monarch eggs and caterpillars. It has been a wet, cool summer but the elements have resulted in a strong midsummer population and an abundant late summer population of monarchs.
