Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 08/17/2009

Number: 1

There has been a lull all summer in North Central Ohio until a couple of days ago. I checked the tropical milkweed that I planted in my flower bed and found 19, 3rd and 4th instars! They had stripped the leaves so I "rescued" them and took them to my rearing cage in my house. I already had 10. I gave them fresh mw and they are munching away. I have never had this many. I am a little concerned about over crowding but will keep and eye on things. It will be interesting to see how this all progresses.
