Two hummingbirds began feeding on the red salvia in our flower garden. Now that I have the feeder up, they are feeding there also; however, they still seem to prefer the salvia. We hope these are scouts and that their friends will arrive in September as they often do. Some years there are many, other years there are few. The cool spring weather caused us to miss almost all of our spring visitors who went further west on their way north.
