The Cradle in Pisgah Forest, NC, established a Monarch Waystation, #03048, this spring. There are about 6 very small common milkweed (only about 6" high) and two butterfly weeds in the garden. A volunteer reported seeing 5 eggs--four on one butterfly weed and one on the milkweed. She said she found them about three days ago. I confirmed her find today. She also reported that a female lighted on her one day last week and she saw a few dead ones (gender unknown) along one of the trails.
