Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/22/2009

Number: 1

I saw a female hummer gathering nectar from a yellow trumpet vine. What was interesting to note was how she collected the nectar. She pierced the tubular flower close to its base. I noticed all the flowers fallen on the deck had been pierced, I assume by this hummer and maybe her mate who I have not seen so far today.
