Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/23/2009

Number: 1

didn't see a male today noticed visitors thru out the day all one at a time with lenghty intervals in between. sugar water has been starting to cloud up every other day day now for the last week or so. i suspect thats from rain tho entering in the small holes. so we're making sure to keep it clean and fresh as not to let that be a deterent. been fly swatting those pesky yellow jackets as i saw one fem/jv not even take a sip after stopping by and dancing about with yjak. another time yesterday, one was not willing to put feet down on perch while feeding. the best one that i liked was the fem/jv that used its head to position its beak directly at the bee nomatter what position the bee erraticaly put itself in. that hummer was very effective in keeping that bee at bay and not have to leave its perch.
