Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/23/2009

Number: 1

This is in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains, and our hummers have been going crazy! They are constantly at the feeders, buzzing each other away, claiming dominance, and drinking to beat the band! Mainly they are females but there is at least one male in the midst. This is an area with very little in bloom so the hummers are dependent on feeders, and it amazes us each year that they return rather than find a place that is more naturally "happy" for them. We are thankful, however, that they continue to choose us!
