Currently we have about a dozen hummingbirds emptying our feeder daily. There are several juveniles, and one or two males, the rest being females. We live in a deciduous oak wood at about 1300 feet above sea level. Our feeder is located on our deck which is in the trees twenty feet above the ground. The activity has become frenetic and we believe they must be preparing for a long migration.
