When coming home today about 5:30 pm I saw a monarch nectaring at my tropical milkweed in my front garden. I startled it when I attempted to determine its gender and it flew north. There are still early instar caterpillars feeding on my tropical and common milkweeds at my Monarch Waystation #271. I found eggs earlier in the week.
