This has not been a good year in my backyard here in Northwest Lincoln, Nebraska. I've only seen a few butterflies, and only two monarchs. I found one 2nd instar cat back in early July, that I tried to keep alive but was unable to. I have seen Monarchs, painted ladies, red admirals and a couple of swallowtails in the strolling garden next to the Children's Zoo. We will be having our second annual Monarch Tag and Release event at the Zoo on Sunday, September 20th. Hopefully I will have found some Monarchs to raise for the event :)
